Chhapra, September 4, 2024. The birth centenary celebration of Bihar IPTA’s former General Secretary, Poet Kanhaiya, will be held on September 15, 16, and 17 at Vindhyavasini Devi Nagar, Ramjungal Singh College campus, Dighwara (Saran). On the occasion of Poet Kanhaiya’s birth centenary celebration, Dighwara town will become the center of Bihar’s literary and cultural diversity. Renowned critic Virendra Yadav (Uttar Pradesh) will inaugurate the three-day event, and IPTA National Committee’s Executive President Rakesh will participate as the chief guest. Personalities from the fields of culture and literature have also agreed to attend this event. Every evening, a folk cultural festival will be organized, featuring performances of folk songs, folk dances, and plays by various units of Bihar IPTA and Parivartan Natya Mandali (Narendra, Siwan).
Dr. Firoz Ashraf Khan, Acting General Secretary of Bihar IPTA, informed that on the first day of the Kanhaiya Birth Centenary Celebration, Sunday, September 15, 2024, representatives and artists will arrive and register by 11 AM, followed by flag hoisting at 1:30 PM. At 2 PM, a cultural procession against vulgarity and obscenity will be held from Ramjungal Singh College to Dighwara town. At 4 PM, two art galleries based on the IPTA movement and Kanhaiya’s poems will be inaugurated. The inaugural session of the Poet Kanhaiya Birth Centenary Celebration will begin at 4:30 PM, with Virendra Yadav, a senior critic (U.P.), as the inaugurator, and Rakesh, National Executive President of IPTA, as the chief guest. Other guests will include Arun Kamal (poet), Hrishikesh Sulabh (playwright), Parvez Akhtar (theater director), Ravindra Bharti (poet), Ranjit Verma (poet), Jabbar Alam (labor leader), Upendra Kumar Mishra (President, Jharkhand IPTA), Dr. Satyajit (doctor), Prof. (Dr.) Ravindra Nath Rai (General Secretary, Prales), Indu Prabha (professor), Javed Akhtar Khan (actor), Tanveer Akhtar (National General Secretary, IPTA), Prof. (Dr.) Virendra Narayan Yadav (MLC and President, Chhapra IPTA), Prof. (Dr.) Lal Babu Yadav, Prof. (Dr.) Pramendra Ranjan Singh, Qasim Khurshid (poet), Nivedita (poetess), Prof. Anand Bihari Sharan (professor), Tayyab Hussain ‘Peedit’ (poet), Ram Babu Kumar (APSO), and Ravindra Nath Rai (ISKF). The evening will feature a folk cultural festival with performances of folk songs, folk dances, and plays by various units of IPTA and Parivartan.
Dr. Firoz Ashraf Khan further informed that on Monday, September 16, at 10 AM, there will be a Kanhaiya Memorial Dialogue on “Our Dream India” with speakers Shailendra and Rakesh, chaired by Virendra Yadav. At 11 AM, the first session on “Poet Kanhaiya in Folk Perspective” will begin with a keynote address by Javed Akhtar Khan, followed by speakers Arun Kamal, Hrishikesh Sulabh, Parvez Akhtar, Alok Dhanwa, Ravindra Bharti, Ranjit Verma, Sumant Sharan, Jabbar Alam, Qasim Khurshid, Usha Verma, Tayyab Hussain ‘Peedit’, Dharmendra Sushant, and Satyendra Kumar. The second session on “Poet Kanhaiya in Folk Perspective” will be held at 2:30 PM, followed by a folk cultural festival in the evening with performances of folk songs, folk dances, and plays by various units of IPTA and Parivartan.
On Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at 9 AM, there will be a “Poet’s Footsteps” Rangyatra and dialogue in Manopur, followed by a poetry session at 2 PM with poets Ravindra Bharti, Ranjit Verma, Qasim Khurshid, Nivedita, Narendra Prasad Singh, Suresh Kantak, Brijmohan Prasad ‘Anari’, Munga Lal Shastri, Surendra Prasad Vishal, Guru Charan Singh ‘Guru’, Hriday Narayan ‘Hehar’, Virendra Kumar Mishra ‘Abhay’, Dr. Sudarshan Prasad Rai, Dr. Rajaram Singh ‘Priyadarshi’, Subhash Chandra, Yadav, and Vinay Rai ‘Baburang’ reciting their poems. The closing session of the Poet Kanhaiya Birth Centenary Celebration will be held at 5 PM, with Tanveer Akhtar, National General Secretary of IPTA, as the chief guest. The evening will feature a folk cultural festival with performances of folk songs, folk dances, and plays by various units of IPTA and Parivartan.
